Tutorial File included with JPEG disk 10 : The Art Of Imagine
How To Make "Spring" Object ?
=============================
Here is a tutorial wich show how to create loops or springs objects such
as those you can find on this disk and use in Imagine's detail editor.
To make my objects I've used Imagine 2.0
The objet consists in two rotations a) an orbital (path)
b) a rotation around the orbital
Method :
========
1.Add a closed Path (the first orbital)
This path is the circle wich make the general form of the loops
2.Add a disk(Add primitive => disk).It's the form wich is moved and rotated
around the path.
Choose a radius of 8 with 12 or 15 points it's enough for this work.
3.Once the object(disk) picked, go to the "pick points" mode (right A + 3)
4.Select all points of the disk (select all).
5.Move the points to the left or to the right,the axis stays in the center
don't move it.
The distance between points et axis is equal to the radius of the rotation
of the disk around closed path.
6.Now you must rotate all the points.Keep the points selected and select
rotate.Click on the X at the bottom of the screen.
Rotate the point with 90°.
Go now to the pick onjects or groupe mode (rA + 1 or 2)
7.Finally extrude(Mold) the disk modified "along the path"
select "Align Y to Path".the number you put in Y Rotation depends
of the number of loops choosen.The number is 360*number of loops.
For the number of sections,I've used 10 section for a loop.
8.Click on "Perform"
If this Tutorial is a little obscur,you can find two objects in the drawer
objects: - Tut.Disk presents the step 1 To 6
- Tut.Path is the path I used ...
NB : you can replace the disk by a square,a star ...
If you love 3D you can write to me to exchange ideas,tips ...
